UPDATE on my newsletters...and my NEW JOB 🚀

Heyyyy…hope you’ve had a great week so far?
I haven’t posted a letter since September 26. Firstly, I apologize that you haven’t heard from me all these while, and I didn’t give any update or explanation about the silence.
Secondly, thanks so much, once again for subscribing. It gives me so much fulfilment that you subscribe to see more of MY content 🙏🏾
The past few weeks has been a couple of activities. I’ve been interviewing for jobs for ¾ months after being laid off from my previous company in June.
Well, exciting news is I accepted a job offer as Internal Developer Advocate for Adyen. I’ve been preparing for this job during October (creating routines, sending/signing documents for my visa reapplication, and so on.)
I started with them on the 1st of November and as you would guess, I’ve been onboarding. Onboarding has also been a lot of work, and overwhelming as I try to absorb so much information.
So the past few weeks, as I mentioned earlier, has been a lot of activities. And it’s not like I didn’t have anytime at all for my newsletters, but I instead used those times to rest from all the week’s work, and prepare for the new week.
Consistency is something we all struggle with, and also something I’ve struggled a lot with my newsletters–especially while juggling it with my other content creation platforms (Life/Career YouTube, Tech YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn).
One thing that also makes consistency hard for me this period (for my newsletters), is the amount of research I have to do to fit my newsletter structure:
  • what I did last week
  • featured articles
  • featured videos
  • “tool of the day”
  • “tip of the day”
  • and others
So when I can’t get enough content for this structure, I get discouraged, and procrastinate.
Moving on, at least for the foreseeable future, I’d still love to send newsletters, but I don’t want to subject myself to strictly follow this structure. I want to share the resources I can lay my hands on during the week (be it the ones I created, or ones I came across and bookmarked to share).
So, my newsletter isn’t going away. You’d still find many valuable resources (at least I would believe they are). But you may not see a consistency in the structure or in the number of resources I share. I want to make consistency a little easier for myself (as I handle my other responsibilities) instead of giving up totally on my newsletters.
I’d love to hear what you think about this. Please send a comment about the approach i want to take as well as other suggestions you may have.
Have a great rest of your week! 💜
